About Me
Yes that's my name "Ken Jewell" so named after my father Kenneth. I was born in August 1971 and have lived in England all of my life.
My skills are in the field of "Embedded Software & Hardware Design" I am based in Liverpool UK but my work can take me all over the world and to answer the question why? – Quite simply, because I can.
For those of you who don't know what Embedded Software & Hardware Designer's actually do I will explain a little bit;
Look at most gadgets around today from Telephones to Washing Machines each product needs to be designed from scratch this involves several processes from concept, design, prototyping, testing, re-design, more testing and finally manufacture.
Well I work on the prototyping and design side of that process, the electronics part of that product and I write the software (actually called firmware) that runs inside that product on a small chip called a MCU (micro controller unit) or MPU (micro processor unit).
My expertise is in Computer Interfacing, Security Devices and Telecommunications but the process is pretty much the same for any product.
Here are just some of the products that utilise firmware that was designed and written by me.
